2D Refresh

In late 2006, we launched the 4600r 2D scanner. It featured unparalleled functionality and scanning performance. With tens of thousands of 4600r devices now deployed to the field, we are adding this break-through performance to our complete line of 2D readers.

All 4600g, 4820, 4800i and 4820i handheld 2D image scanners shipped from the Hand Held Products factory after February 19, 2008 will include this breakthrough scanning performance. The benefits of this technology are clear:

• Improved readability of shiny and highly reflective codes

We have a new section on our internet site, as part of our ongoing initiative to improve our online presence and bring the best tools and information to our customers and partners. The new tool we’ve launched is called “Find a Partner” and it allows you to find any company in our partner network in EMEA. Just select your country and see the list of partners, sorted by their status (Distributors, Business Solution Partners and Business Partners). Honeywell to acquire Hand Held Products

The announcement went out yesterday: Honeywell is going to acquire Hand Held Products. We at Hand Held are quite excited about this. We feel that this is a great opportunity for our company and, most of all, for our customers. Honeywell and Hand Held Products share one very important philosophy: Customer First. By combining Honeywell’s resources with Hand Held’s expertise and know-how on the AIDC market, we believe that the future looks very bright for current and future users of our products.

New Adaptus section is live

Our Adaptus Imaging Technology forms the core of our successful product range. With Adaptus our products can do so much more than just scan barcodes. To tell people exactly what Adaptus can do, and how you can use it in your own situation, we’ve created a special section on our website that talks about all the cool stuff Adaptus is capable of.

We’ve got several great animations that’ll give real world examples of Adaptus technology at work, as well as a whole set of explanatory voice-overs. You can get to the Adaptus area by clicking on the many “Experience Adaptus” buttons & banners we’ve placed throughout the site.

Clicking on the banner below will also take you right to the Adaptus site.

Aside from the English version there are of course translations of this area available in French, German and Italian.

4410/4470 End Of Life

We’ve put the official End Of Life notice online for the 4410 and 4470 scanner products. These scanners have been an integral part of our product offering for a long time, but with the changes in the marketplace there is less room for niche products like these. Especially now that newer products based on our Adaptus Imaging 5.0 technology can be applied in such a wide range of applications and environments.

More videos! Yes we like videos and we’ll be making more of them in the future. After last week’s Adaptus video featuring our OEM guru Jan Douma, we now have a video about our Dolphin Power Tools software. Betrand Lombardo, the Professional Services manager in EMEA, explains all about this suite of highly useful and powerful software utilities:

3800LR/LX Retired

All good things come to an end. So too is it with some of our best-selling products, the 3800 LR and LX models. We have to end their time in the spotlight and make room for the new kid on the block, the 3800g.

We think the 3800g is a better product in every way, and we hope you agree. Take a look at the 3D tour and download the data sheet, you’ll see what we mean.
