4800dr Document Reader Available
Our new 4800dr offers a new take on document imaging. Instead of a flatbed page scanner, you can use the 4800dr to digitize hard-copy documents for paperless processing, storage and retrieval. It consists of an imager, stand and tray that work together to capture images of documents up to A4 in size without any adjustments. Check out the product page for more details.

2D Refresh
In late 2006, we launched the 4600r 2D scanner. It featured unparalleled functionality and scanning performance. With tens of thousands of 4600r devices now deployed to the field, we are adding this break-through performance to our complete line of 2D readers.

All 4600g, 4820, 4800i and 4820i handheld 2D image scanners shipped from the Hand Held Products factory after February 19, 2008 will include this breakthrough scanning performance. The benefits of this technology are clear:
- Best in Class Scan Performance
- Quick and Easy Fly-By and Presentation Scanning
- Improved readability of shiny and highly reflective codes

News from the North - Itella and Finn-ID
Great news from up North! Our business solution partner in Finland, Finn-ID, will be supplying Itella (formerly Finland Post) with our Dolphin 9500 units to modernize the tracking and tracing at Itella logistics solutions. The contract is worth up to 2M EUR, which makes it the biggest deal in the history of the industry in Finland! Way to go fellow Finns.
4410/4470 End Of Life
We’ve put the official End Of Life notice online for the 4410 and 4470 scanner products. These scanners have been an integral part of our product offering for a long time, but with the changes in the marketplace there is less room for niche products like these. Especially now that newer products based on our Adaptus Imaging 5.0 technology can be applied in such a wide range of applications and environments.
If you’re a partner, you can read the full retirement notice on the partner’s area.
Sales organization expands
We’ve been talking about product updates, happy customers and new tools but what it really comes down to is of course sales. To boost our sales in EMEA, four new colleagues have joined our sales team in the past few months. Three of them (Juan Pablo, Steve and Andreas) will be focusing on scanner sales, and Magnus is the guy for Scandinavia!
We have been growing rapidly in the past years and it was also necessary to reshuffle our EMEA organization, to make sure we had the right people in the right places for future growth. You can read the details in our news section.
